Keeping a daily journal has so many wonderful benefits! The main reason most people keep a journal is to express their emotions and keep track of their daily activities without fear of judgement. However, this is just one of the ways journaling can benefit you (and your child!) As a child, journaling can have life-changing benefits including strengthening writing skills and providing an outlet to truly express themselves. It can help them process difficult emotions and also be a place to return to for self-reflection. Keeping a journal can also increase self esteem, resilience, and promote critical thinking and problem solving skills. The best part? Journaling can be a fun, creative outlet!

With our free printable you can easily introduce your toddler or child to the wonders of journaling! Is your child too young to write a journal themselves? No problem! You can use these journal pages as a way to discuss your child's day and use the free space for your child to doodle in as a special keepsake!

To get your FREE PRINTABLE you just need to fill out our short form!

These Journals can be kept as a private way for your child to express themselves or as an activity to do together! Need some ideas for the free space? Allow your child to doodle or write whatever they would like or come up with fun 'prompts' each day.

Some ideas for prompts may be:

  • What is something you have done lately that you are proud of?
  • Draw a self portrait.
  • What made you laugh today?
  • Draw something you hope to do in the future.
  • What are three things you are really good at?
  • What are some goals you have?
  • What are somethings that have made you sad lately?

Keeping a journal can have many benefits, but it's important to remember that journaling isn't always a 'one size fits all.' If your child does not like this style of journal, discuss with them other ways you can journal such as gratitude journals, bullet journals, or more traditional styles. The most important thing to remember is there is no wrong way to journal.
