Are you ready to have more fun and less stress during mealtime? The earliest years of our children's lives are so important in establishing healthy habits, especially when it comes to food. The pressure of making sure your kid is getting all the right stuff can make mealtime especially frustrating when they want to reject all the good-for-you-food. So how to you go from stressful to fun meals? Our Little Foodies is here to help!

Our Little Foodies, a program focused on guiding families through food exploration, is coming to the Boardman Park on January 10th, 2023! The program was founded by Dayna Vivacqua Revetti, a seasoned speech therapist who has specialized in pediatric feeding for over 10 years. Wanting to combine her passions for children, food and building relationships, she set out to provide our area with unique classes for children and caregivers. The focus of the program is providing positive food exploration, from infancy to preschool-age. The goal of Our Little Foodies is to bring families together as a community for a fun experience that will provide them with resources and confidence to have fun with food at home as well!

Three different classes will be offered through the Our Little Foodies program including Exploring Foodies (6 - 12 months), Adventurous Foodies (12 months to 2 1/2 years), and Learning Foodies (2 1/2 to 4 years). Each class provides instruction, activities and more that is developmentally appropriate for each age group to get them excited about exploring and learning about food!

Exploring Foodies for Infants (6-12 months)
Tuesdays at 9:30am

For our new foodies, our goals are for them to explore new tastes and textures, while developing the skills they need to be successful eaters. We will introduce single foods each session, and help our babies explore the food with all of their senses. In addition, we will incorporate lots of language stimulation with baby signing, songs, and books.

Tuesdays at 10:45

Let’s go on some food adventures! In this class, we introduce foods in creative ways to help our toddlers become more comfortable interacting with and eating new foods, as well as learning more ways to eat some of their favorite foods. We will increase your child’s vocabulary by using lots of words to describe how food looks, smells, feels, and tastes. We will begin to talk about why food is good for our bodies. The children will have opportunities to start helping prepare and clean up food.

Tuesdays at 12pm

Our preschoolers are so inquisitive and eager to learn. So let’s teach them about all the wonderful things we are eating! In this class, we dive into describing new and familiar foods. Our children learn that continuing to explore food presented in different ways is fun and exciting. We give our children responsibilities during meals and snacks, such as preparing, serving and cleaning up. Our goal is to help our preschoolers become confident little foodies.

Winter Session begins January 10th and will be held at the Boardman Park in the Elton Beard Cabin.

Classes are limited and are on first come, first served availability.
