Ready for some honesty? I have not been living the healthiest lifestyle. Over the last few years, I have really struggled with making healthy choices when it comes to exercise, eating right and even getting enough sleep! It can be a hard balance as a parent, especially when you break the habit or never really had a habit of making healthy choices. While I try to press upon my daughter the importance of healthy choices, she's still only two so I know that she is learning more by watching me and her Dad than the words we say. While we pick as many healthy options for her as we can, I know there is importance in her seeing us make those same choices. I know I am not alone, and I would love for you to join me! Let's hold each other accountable to make better choices! (In a non-judgmental way, that is fun and creative!) Let's celebrate ALL victories, big and small!
When I say health, I don't just mean healthy food and lots of exercise. Mental Health is just as vital, and often the first thing we put on the back burner. While I know not all Mental Health issues can be solved by positive affirmations and deep breathing, I'm hoping to learn more about ways to manage stress, self care, and ways to show my daughter how to do the same.
My goal is to not only become healthier as a family, but to not make this journey a chore either. For me, making these choices is not just about losing weight (while I would be lying if I said this wasn't one of my goals), it is important to me that my daughter sees that I am making this choice for health and to educate myself and our family.
