It seems everyone in Youngstown is looking for ways to get out of the house this winter! Fresh air is good for the soul — not to mention it helps to get the wiggles out of the kids.
We put together a list to help you find fun things to do this winter with your family in the Valley (or just a short drive away!) during these next few winter months in Youngstown, Ohio:
1. Family Winter Hikes
Check out the trails at Mill Creek MetroParks. Plus, the paved paths at the North and South Golf Courses are open for hiking in the winter.
2. Outdoor Skating at JCC of Youngstown
Freezing temperatures not required! JCC of Youngstown opened a synthetic "ice" rink which is fun for the whole family. Skates are available to rent for $4. Reservations are required at jccyoungstown.org/wintercampus
3. Sled Riding
The best spot in town is Sled Hill at Wick Recreation Area at Mill Creek MetroParks.
4. Snow Tubing

5. Cross Country Skiing
Did you know you can go cross country skiing at Mill Creek MetroParks? If you have your own equipment you can ski at the Mill Creek Golf Course, the Par 3 Golf Course and more.
6. Story Trails
The Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County has a few Story Trails around the area. Take a walk and read a story! Find the trails at Boardman Park, Poland Library, Lowellville Bike Trail, and more.
