The top five places to create art in the Mahoning Valley

I recently attended a sip and paint with a friend at Wonderstruck Art Studio. We painted Baby Yoda - it was a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon - we laughed at our lack of artistic ability, we shared a bottle of wine, and I produced a really cute painting that I’m going to show off in my office. 

The next day my daughter had a paint party with her Girl Scout troop - she had a blast too. 

So it got me thinking about all of the great places in the Valley where we can create our own art. Here are the top five places to create art in Youngstown:


Wonderstruck Artisan Market

Classes, workshops, parties, and fundraisers are available. Students paint on canvas, wood, pottery and glass.

Butler Institute of American Art

The Butler offers art classes throughout the year. With a variety of mediums, class styles, and age ranges, there is something for everyone to enjoy. A list of classes with details can be found at both locations in a brochure with the application form. Class start dates can be found on the calendar on the Butler website, but you must enroll in order to attend the class and pay the fee associated with it.
