Find your Family's Fall Fun at Detwiler Farm!

By Leann Rich September 10, 2019

The Detwiler Family has been giving HAYRIDES TO THE PUMPKIN PATCH for 31 years! Take a ride to the 10-acre pumpkin patch to select and pick your pumpkin. Other activities include a 4-acre cornfield maze, straw maze, and petting zoo.

Cost: $6.00 per person, ages 2 and under are free.  Pumpkins are .37/lb

Hours:  11 am to 5 pm, Saturdays and Sundays Sept. 25 through October 31.

WHAT WE DO:

Once you’ve paid your admission fee you will receive a hand stamp. This covers the cost of the 15-minute hayride to the pumpkin patch and unlimited use of the two mazes.  Rides depart about every 15 min. (to and from the patch). You may take as long as needed to pick your pumpkins.  When you return from the field, you will be directed to our Weigh Barn. There,  the pumpkins are weighed and paid for.  Most people then take them to their car and return to enjoy the rest of the activities.

We are autumn-based and family oriented….there is nothing scary or haunted. Many many families tell us that coming to the farm is their annual tradition and we are very honored by that.   We are on generation 2 now…parents who came as children themselves,  now bring their children.  The view on our hayride, of the rolling countryside in autumn , is absolutely spectacular and the best attraction of all.

The straw maze is a favorite of most children…it is inside a barn and consists of  crawling through a tunnel of straw with a sliding board as the exit.  Caution: Please do not enter if you have asthma, or are allergic to hay or straw.

There is a market where we have farm grown decorations: various pumpkins, decorative squash, gourds, broomcorn, mums, straw and cornstalks;  also local apples and cider.

Concessions are available..such as various sandwiches, hot dogs,  fries,  apple dumplings, ice cream, milkshakes, hot and cold beverages.

Detwiler Farm is recognized by the Ohio Department of Agriculture as an Ohio Sesquicentennial Farm, which means the farm has been in the same family for 150 years or more. Detwiler Farm has been in our family for 181 years.
