I stopped at the Boardman location today for lunch. I had my "I'll eat anything" kiddo with me. I tried the Ranch Flank Steak Rice Bowl, she boldly chose (she's 10 after all)  the Spicy Thai Chicken and Rice Noodle Bowl.

When you step up to the counter - (it's very similar to other counter service restaurants like Chipotle and The Simple Greek) - the ingredients are right in front of you, and boy, is it colorful! On the wall is a Dunkin Donut style cabinet (you know the one with all of the donuts), only this one is full of greens. It's a green rainbow of arugula, Napa cabbage, romaine lettuce, spinach, and mesclun greens.

My bowl had purple rice, pieces of steak, roasted sweet potatoes, house-made falafel, arugula, and homemade ranch dressing. My daughter made a few adjustments to her bowl - she left off the peppers, and got the Thai dressing on the side. She chose a barbeque sauce for the chicken, but she kept the Siracha sprouts and cabbage.

Both entrees were delicious - I loved the roasted sweet potatoes, and I think this was the first time I've tried falafel (it was very good), the rice gave it some heft, and the spicy greens brought it all together. The spicy chicken choice surprised me, but she loved the chicken and the spicy sprouts (!) and ate some of the cabbage and dressing, but she wasn't feeling the cold noodles. I thought they were tasty...

We also tried the broccoli cheese soup - it's her favorite. It was also tasty, a nice puree of cauliflower, broccoli, and carrots with chicken broth and cheese.

Don't worry - if your kids are not as adventurous as mine - the kid's meal choices include simple veggies with chicken and optional sauces. And, they can build their own dinner - which makes it fun!
